Getting Started (for job seekers)
To become a member of Experience Unlimited , Contra Costa Chapter, (EU) you must complete all of the following:
- Attend an EU General Meeting
General Meetings are held weekly, Tuesday mornings, at Temple Isaiah of Contra Costa, and are open to the public. Click here for information on meeting time and agenda, appropriate dress, and directions to Temple Isaiah. - Attend Orientation
To find out more about Experience Unlimited and learn whether we are the type of organization that may offer you the help you are looking for, attend a 30-minute orientation workshop.
Orientation workshops are held at Temple Isaiah each week as part of our General Meeting. Membership applications are provided and discussed during the workshop.
- Attend a Job Search Skills Workshop
The job search workshop provides an overview of the many areas involved in a job search.
Workshops are held roughly every other week and consist of one half-day, morning, session. Reservations are required.
- Attend an EU Department Meeting
Experience Unlimited is entirely volunteer led and operated. Members volunteer 16 hours per month (an average of 4 hours per week) toward EU operations … a combination of meeting attendance and department work.
While you choose a department affiliation as part of your membership, you may change departments at any time. Particpation in the organization's Board as President, Vice-president, or Secretary is also encouraged.
Members often volunteer for projects in several departments, depending on their interests … for example, someone in IT may lead a Training workshop covering a topic they have a special background or interest in.
Department meetings take place weekly, as part of and (as needed) immediately following the General Meeting. - Register and post your resume with CalJOBS
CalJOBS is the California employment database, "California's Internet system for linking employer job listings and job seeker resumes".
The system provides tools to post your resume at a variety of detail levels, from a high-level summary through details of five key jobs. Access to profiles are limited to authorized EDD-enrolled prospective employers, and personal information is easily kept off the profile.
After you complete the initial membership requirements, you will have full access to all EUCCC resources as long as you maintain active membership status.
